Mustard Barbecue Sauce

This mustard barbecue sauce packs a spicy wallop. Louisiana hot sauce and habanero pepper adds the kick. It is a mustard based barbecue sauce but surprise ingredients are beer and coffee.

Try this barbecue sauce the next time you make pulled pork. This is good stuff. But not as good as the #1 Top Secret BBQ Sauce

Mustard Based Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

2 cups apple cider
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1 1/4 cups ketchup
1/2 cup honey mustard
1/2 cup prepared yellow mustard
1/2 cup coarsely ground mustard
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup molasses
1/3 cup cane syrup
1 (12 ounce) bottle dark beer
1/2 cup brewed coffee
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup Louisiana-style hot sauce
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 habanero pepper, seeded and minced

Directions

Place the apple cider, balsamic vinegar, ketchup, honey mustard, yellow mustard, coarse mustard, honey, molasses, cane syrup, beer, coffee, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, hot sauce, black pepper, celery salt, and the habanero pepper in a large pan.

Simmer the mixture over low heat until it is thoroughly blended, about 25 minutes. Remove from the stove, cool, pour into a covered container. Refrigerate the barbecue sauce until needed.

You can make pulled pork sandwiches simply by adding this barbecue sauce to leftover pork roast and heating. A slow cooker is ideal for this.
