Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce

Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce was probably created by the Jack Daniels Company in order to sell more whiskey. However it really is surprising how much flavor the bourbon adds to the sauce.

It's a pretty good sauce but not a great sauce like the #1 Top Secret BBQ Sauce

Jack Daniels Sauce For BBQ

Ingredients

3/4 cup Jack Daniels bourbon whiskey, or to taste
1/2 cup chopped onion
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup vinegar
3 tablespoons
Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 cup molasses
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce, or to taste

Instructions

In a 3-quart saucepan combine the Jack Daniels, onion and garlic. Saute the mixture for 10 minutes or until the onions are translucent.

Add all the remaining ingredients and bring to boiling. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered until the BBQ sauce is reduced and thickened, about 15 to 25 minutes.

Add more Jack Daniels to the BBQ sauce if a stronger flavor is desired.

Place the meat you intend to barbecue in a nonporous bowl and pour some of the BBQ sauce over it. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and marinade for 3 to 4 hours.

The remaining sauce can be served along side the dish. Discard the marinade.
