Honey Glazed Baked Ham Recipe
This ham recipe is just like the famous Honey Ham but much cheaper. Don't forget to baste!
Ingredients
5 pounds ready-to-eat ham
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
2 cups honey
2/3 cup butter
Directions
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.
Score the ham and stud with the whole cloves. Place the ham in a foil lined baking pan.
In the top half of a double boiler, heat the corn syrup, honey and butter. Keep the glaze warm while baking ham.
Brush the glaze over the ham, and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Baste the ham every 10 to 15 minutes with the honey glaze.
During the last 4 to 5 minutes of baking, turn on the broiler to caramelize the glaze. Remove the ham from the oven, and let it sit 10 minutes or so before serving.
You'll love this ham. It's very easy even for the first time ham baker.
Butter Honey Baked Ham Recipe
The baked ham yields a moist, tender and sweet tasting ham.
Ingredients
1 (12 pound) bone-in ham
3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup honey
1/2 cup whole cloves (optional)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut 1-inch deep criss-crosses into the flat side of the ham.
In a small bowl, mix together the butter and the honey. Spread the glaze onto the ham, making sure to get in the crevices too. Insert the whole cloves into the ham if desired. Place the ham in a roasting pan.
Bake for 4 hours in the preheated oven, or 20 minutes per pound. The internal temperature should reach 160 degrees F. Baste the ham every 20 minutes with the drippings. Remove the baked ham from the oven a let it rest approximately 10 minutes. Slice, serve and enjoy!
